He has this interesting idea that what is normal is the kind of typical.

To put it very crudely, normal is kind of the average.

If it is too much or too little,

this is pathological or abnormal;

That is the idea.

So therefore one dimension in which he uses the typology is integration

right?--how well integrated we are into a social group we are in.

And that can be too high or it can be too low. Right?
